Hello :D today we wrote about ghosts, hope you like it. Also if you know of more of them please tell us so that we can write about them too.
St. Felicitas Church in Barracas, is the home of the most famous ghost of Buenos Aires, its name is Felicitas Guerrero of Aizaga. When she was 15, she married with Martín of Aizaga (who was a landowner). Felicitas has two sons with him, and both of them died when they were young.
At 24 she was widow, but still was beautiful and rich. Two impetuous young men fighted for her, and they were: Enrique Ocampo and the farmer, Sáenz Valiente.
Felicitas chose the second; but Ocampo, who loved her since ever, couldn´t bear the scorn and asked to see her before the wedding. They argued, and Ocampo killed her with two shots in 30/01/1872. Ocampo´s family says that Guerrero´s family killed Enrique; but Guerrero´s family says Enrique commited suicide. Well, that´s not the important part, what´s really important is that Felicitas´s family built St. Felicitas Church behind the house, qhere today is Colombia Park.
The legends says that Felicitas walks behind the grids of the church in all 30th January and laments. Some people leave handkerchiefs tied to the grids. When the church was restores for first time, the architect discovered that all the angels, in it, had dropped the right wing -Felicitas was shot on the right shoulder-. When taht was repaired all the bells stated to ring by themselves. St. Felcitas Church is the less chose for weddings. Nowadays it´s being restored.
